Calliope Music Review of the Week 파란노을 [Parannoul] - After The Night Korean Shoegaze Act, Parannoul Metamorphosizes in a Monumental Live Performance, Transforming Stunning Midi Tracks into Fully Instrumented Emo and Indie Rock Epics. Formerly electronic produced shoegaze is inherited by a full band, comprised of multiple guitars, drums, bass, keyboard and even trumpet. Parannoul leads the band in performing songs off his last few solo efforts, as well as a 46 minute version of the single, "Into the Endless Night." After The Night sees improvised forms of each tune, letting a live setting embrace anarchic noise and crestfallen nostalgia. Calliope Music Review of the Week Jessie Ware - That! Feels Good! U.K. Dance-Pop Star, Jessie Ware Extravasates Pleasure in this Disco and Funk Fueled Frolic of Love and Pop. Palatial Disco production accords rosy displays of passion and satisfaction. Grand horns, jouncing bass lines, and shaking synth buttress robust vocals persisting for extravagant hedonism. Ware's vehement hooks along with magisterial dance grooves implore an irresistible need to move in rollick fashion. Three years removed from the seminal, What's Your Pleasure? , Jessie Ware continues her quest in pleasure-driven Dance-Pop. This time, Ware ups the ante with faster, louder and more Funk inspired Pop tunes. Where her previous album utilized synth beats and softer drama-filled ballads, That! Calliope Music Review of the Week Swans - The Beggar Renowned Experimental Rock Group, Swans Enter the Charred Sewers of Death through Primal Post-Rock and Discomposed Gothic Country in their 16th Studio LP. Deliberate tempos, hypnotic bass drums, expansive harmonies and snarly vocals spiral in a spiritual affair, creaking to the sinister nuances of death and deterioration. Band founder and leader, Michael Gira utilizes steady cadences to deliver spacious hauntings of human nature, begging to stay afloat amid prophetic disfigurement. Slow-moving progressions do lead to moments of sedate emptiness, yet Gira nevertheless succeeds in pulling the listener down into the depths of his darkest manifestation: the grotesque inevitability of expiration.
