Boy Meets Elemental Electropop
The third studio effort from Electronic producer and songwriter, 2hollis is perhaps his most complete, full of bouncy Electropop and large-scale synth environments. Taking steps into the vast echo chambers of House and the saw-toothed jabs of Hyperpop, 2hollis balances a contagious history of Electronic music.
Where lyrically there is a bit to be desired, a confident vocal performance magnifies sharp climates of crackling keys and turbulent bass. A record that is succinct in its runtime, brief reflections of loss and romantic confusion are given the light to stick in the listener's ear through catchy refrain.
All in all, boy is a quite concise project that showcases the dazzling development of a young producer, provocative and pleasantly diverse throughout.
