Fieval Is Glauque - Rong Weicknes

A Brisk Trip Down the Riverside of Flowing Dreams

Formed in the magic of airy flute and flooding double bass, Jazz Pop duo, Fievel Is Glauque bobs in a valley of sugary Fusion and ardent Progressives. Skittish rhythms play with bubbly electric guitar, shining Jazz drums, breezy flutes, and wuthering saxophone.

Singer, Ma Clément connects light and open vocals to brisk progressions, contributing to a thematic mysticism. Clément journeys the listener through a cottage town of love and wonder, sneaking in a subtle nihilism to cheerful tracks.

The 45-minute record finds difficulty in delivering stand-out moments throughout the runtime but does not falter in showing a consistently spirited and lighthearted tone. The second half of the record is the main subtractor, struggling to match the distinct drama of the first half.

Rong Weicknes may be bluffing its joy, but liberal combinations of sporty Jazz instruments and sprightly Pop movements make the album a perky walk on the grassy riverside of flowing dreams.
