drive your plow over the bones of the dead - tragedy as catharsis
In just 18 minutes, drive your plow over the bones of the dead (DYPOBD) unleash a searing punishment. Encrusted with obliterating guitar riffs, incessant percussion, and gut-splitting screams the band crushes and devours calamity into smithereens of digestible catharsis.
Although such brevity can leave tracks rather primitive, the sound speaks for itself in its rapid discharge of gumption. Combining the wickedness of Emoviolence with the riffage of metallic Mathcore elevates the record beyond a void of undefinable noise music and into a sharp and deliciously violent release.
Paysage d'Hiver - Die Berge
A great journey to the peak of existence.
Long-time Metal outfit, Paysage d'Hiver ascends the mountaintop of eternity, searching amidst snowstorms and endless avalanches for enlightenment. Grand schemes of enlacing drones and continuous blast beat gush upward in streams of conscious weather. Icy vocals careen over the impenetrable instrumentation, forming smooth and mesmeric progressions.
The 100-minute album is difficult to absorb as prolonged movements drift on the line of white noise, but steady buildups, cold synths, and tense guitar passages allow the record to move ever uphill. This edge along with a minacious hypnotism generates a truly immersive atmosphere; one frostbitten with grief, yet determined to continue marching steadily skywards.
