Fall Out Boy - So Much (For) Stardust

Pop Punk Band, Fall Out Boy Reconvenes Post Pandemic with Blasted Rock Tunes and Angsty Power Pop.
Commonplace punk guitar and simple drumming slap along as lead singer Patrick Stump belts of relational estrangement, perseverance and Covid-19 blues. Clear production mixes dominant pop choruses with temporary string and piano sections. While some instrumental variance exists through intros and interludes, the vast majority of the record follows a dryer pop formula.

So Much (For) Stardust exhibits relatively developed themes, placing importance on heightening the mundane through vigorous refrains and heavy guitar. Nonetheless, these concepts are quickly withered through repeated use and the scarcity of diverting progressions. This LP serves as a more stouthearted release for the band, but still struggles in creating consequential pop outside of catchy hooks.
